Empress Stiltdance garden stiltwalkers weave, dance and play around the soaring vocals of Stephanie Acraman. Operatic grandeur meets ultra-violet circus arts as the tall stilt dancers bring magic and style into the arena. Acrobatic bugs, flowers and a cocoon transforms into a giant singing butterfly. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Show: Lady Butterfly.
Length: 20 minutes. Can also have a 5 minute photo opportunity at the end.
Performers: 7
Area: Large flat ground area of approx 10m (wide) x 8m (deep).
Height needed: 5m.
Soundsystem: PA with fold-back must be provided with headset mike for Stephanie. We also need a sound desk operator.
Off Stage: Two entrance / exit areas for the stiltdancers and accessible backstage area beside or behind performance zone.
Backstage: Private change area for cast. Does not have to be the same as the off-stage area, but needs to be close by.
Rehearsals: We need one soundcheck with soundsystem and walkthrough for full cast on site before the shows start. This can be on the same day as the first show.
PROFILE
Stephanie Acraman (NZ) is a prolific, award winning soprano vocalist currently on a whirlwind tour of the globe. She has performed as a soloist in a number of major operas as well as stage, theatre, and large-scale events. With a background in both dance and music Stephanie also directs, teaches, consults and also performs in a number of substantial works every year throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and Europe.
