BUZZ

In 2007, the Sky City Casino (NZ) commissioned EMPRESS to collaborate on a new project - BUZZ. The incredible brain-child of Geoff Turkington, BUZZ aimed to fill a 100m2 atrium with hanging flowers, vines, pods, and palms. Turning the space into a lush, tropical fantasy jungle, we populated the jungle with aerial silk climbing bugs and bees (evening shows), whilst roaming the forest floor was a preying mantis and more giant flowers (day-times). Never seen before or since on this kind of scale, BUZZ was a one-of-a-kind project that brought wonder, joy and total amazement to everyone who walked through the door.
