MegaFlorals

The MegaFlorals was a spectacular project dreamed up by Pico Bahrain in collaboration with the 25th Gulf World Cup in Basra, Iraq 2023. Commissioned to design and make 10 giant dancing flower props, Emily got busy in her small studio in Christchurch (NZ) testing out the new concept on the back lawn. Once made, the MegaFlorals were then freighted to Basra. Emily flew over to unpack them and was amused when they were all handed to the Iraq military for a rehearsal. It was a great week in Basra testing and rehearsing the MegaFlorals. They then appeared in the opening ceremony under gorgeous lighting and world-class video graphics. A proud moment and a project Emily would do all over again!
